Bendigo Bank has a number of initiatives that go beyond banking to help its customers and strengthen the communities they live in. One of these is ‘community banking’, through which a Bendigo Bank Community Bank branch can support its local community, often through grants to community groups and projects.
In January 2014 RDNS was thrilled to become a beneficiary of the Community Bank initiative when the Rye, Dromana and Rosebud Community Bank Branches of Bendigo Bank became a major sponsor for RDNS Rosebud.
Under the sponsorship arrangement, the Community Bank branches will underwrite car leasing costs enabling four new cars to be made available to RDNS Rosebud nurses for a three year period.
Following the lead of their Rye, Dromana and Rosebud counterparts, RDNS is delighted that other Community Bank Branches of Bendigo Bank are also commiting to sponsorships of their local RDNS sites. Seddon Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank recently committed to sponsor RDNS Altona and are supplying two new cars for the nurses to use in the Seddon area over the next three years. East Malvern Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank has similarly committed to a two year sponsorship of their local RDNS site in Caulfield and will also be supplying two new cars for RDNS Caulfield.
RDNS nurses in the sponsored communities are thrilled; particularly for the benefits that such gestures will bring to their clients. Those who will benefit most are clients needing care at home after hospital stays, the elderly who depend on RDNS visits, and those in palliative care.
Both RDNS and Bendigo Bank are very pleased with the new arrangements as both parties take enormous pride in helping to make people’s lives better – RDNS in home health and Bendigo Bank in community financial management. It’s an important partnership that RDNS is looking forward to developing further.
