The RDNS Helen Macpherson Smith Institute of Community Health shares knowledge and resources at a state, national and international level. It is also involved in joint projects with a range of research bodies, universities and health service providers.

The RDNS Institute and La Trobe University have forged a special collaboration to develop practice-based research and education into community nursing.

The partnership with La Trobe University Postgraduate Clinical School of Community Nursing offers RDNS nurses the chance to do formal university based study and research in community nursing with the benefit of using the RDNS environment as the site for their learning.

The RDNS Institute is also developing partnerships with other research units and universities. The potential for partnerships is unlimited and ranges from one off contracts and collaborative research projects to long-term programs.
