How we used your donation in 2010/11
Royal District Nursing Service > How You Can Help Us > How we used your donation in 2010/11

At RDNS we believe it is essential to provide feedback to supporters on our fundraising activities. We are accountable for your donations and we want to keep you informed on how your gifts are being used.

During 2010/11 we raised a total of $3,353,053.  The majority of this fundraising revenue has been directed to our greatest need – to employ additional nurses to respond to the growing demand for our services in our community. In 2010/11, thanks to your support, we were able to employ an additional 48 nurses, who collectively made 92,160 visits to clients.

In addition, we were able to achieve the following projects:

  • the purchase of specialised clinical equipment including bladder scanners, dopplers, syringe drivers;
  • purchase of training aids to improve clinical skills;
  • research related to best practice care to improve nursing and client care;
  • food, nutritional support and medical consumables for our homeless clients;
  • research related to clients’ medication management;
  • the translation of educational material for clients from non-English speaking backgrounds;
  • continuation of the Wound Fund that subsidises the cost of expensive wound products for financially disadvantaged clients.

As you can see, our donors’ wonderful support has directly impacted on many important aspects of our work.  Quite simply, we would not be able to provide the care we do without the generosity of people like you.
