A typical day in the life of a nurse may include:

  • Working from 7.30am - 4.30pm
  • Visiting 10 to 15 clients in their homes
  • Conducting healthcare assessments
  • Providing nursing care in the following areas:
    • Assessment and case management
    • Medication and diabetes management
    • Wound and continence management
    • Hospital liaison
    • Rehabilitation
    • Palliative care
    • HIV/AIDS, stomal therapy, cystic fibrosis, technical nursing
    • Social work and physiotherapy
